Holiday Baking Day

In our family, Holiday Baking Day comes once a year. Actually, it’s usually more like two days. We have nine delicious holiday cookie or candy recipes that we have perfected over the years. Then, each year, each of our three children also pick something new to try. Sometimes they are easy and sometimes they are RIDICULOUSLY hard – like when Eli chose a cute little Christmas mouse or Adam chose gum drops. This year Grace made churro toffee. Pretty much anything goes. The only rule is that good fun & family bonding is involved!
Before! A Candy Thermometer is a Must Have! Getting Serious. Breaks are Required. Father-Son Action. Photo Bomb. Coming Along. The Package! Decorating. SUGAR! Drooling.. Packing Up for Delivery!
Once all the baking is complete, we package the item up and head out to make deliveries – Fast Food Frenzy style! We make a list of people who have impacted us over the year and our homemade goodies are just a small way to say thank you! Along the way, we stop at several fast food restaurants – where each person gets to order one item from each location. And we usual try and sneak a few views of Christmas lights along the way! It’s a family tradition like no other!
