1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
24 Ounces Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Perfect Butter Toffee

So full of flavor with the perfect texture. This delicious toffee is even better if you sprinkle on chopped toasted nuts, candy canes, or sea salt. Perfect for the holiday season!

Place parchment paper on a large cookie baking sheet.

Combine butter, sugar, water, and salt in a medium saucepan.

Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat, stirring gently, until candy thermometer registers 298 degrees.

Immediately remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract until well combined.

Pour the mixture onto the parchment paper. Use a heatproof rubber spatula to spread quickly before the toffee sets. Spread it so it thin - approximately 1/4 inch.

Allow toffee to cool completely. Blot to remove excess oil from the surface.

Melt the chocolate chips. In a microwave bowl, heat in 30 second increments at 50% power. Stop when completely melted - does not have to be hot.

Coat surface with half of the melted chocolate and immediately sprinkle with topping (if desired).
